Painting Controversy

I have spent many years painting many a nude and I always got flak for it. The study of flesh and skin tones. In order to never have a creative block I have never edited myself or tried to be P.C.
Now it's kind of funny because I am getting flak for painting a religious piece.

The "Pieta" is a strong work it is starting to rock. If i were to put it side by side with one of my nudes it would go unnoticed. Detractors of nudes only get interested in art when they see flesh. Is that a commentary on the artist or the viewer?
