Is getting the subject to either sit for drawings which is nearly impossible and or to get a good quality photo from them. Sometimes getting this done is harder than the painting itself. If only.................... we are in the age of disposable mind sets. Flat screens burn out and smart-phones fall into toilet bowls. I heard a guy talking about investments and he was touting tangibles like gold, silver, and art.
Yes art is an investment A painting can be forever.

Attention Burning Man 2010 Participants

Dear participants of Burning Man Project, this painting is missing.
A friend of mine has told me that I should try to reach out to Burning Man Project participants. He thinks that the painting may be used as an item to offer in trade for goods and or services. If you see it don't trade for it contact me.

this is the missing painting if it has not been destroyed it will turn up somewhere and someday i will hear about it.

These are the theories.

Someone anyone in attendance at the fundraiser could have grabbed the piece and outright sold it as there own for any amount. I do mean someone or anyone but definitely in attendance.

Someone anyone could have the piece and are planning on taking it to burning man as an item for trade barter.

Someone anyone like a drunken college kid took it on a whim and they have destroyed it for fear of being discovered.

Bottom line my work was touched and moved without my knowledge or consent. My work is damaged my work is stolen. The exhibit space was not open until and only during the event. If the work had not been moved it would not have been easily damaged or stolen.

During this event the group went into an exhibit space and decided to bring down my artwork without notifying me. In the process one painting was stolen and an other painting was scuffed and several frames marred. No one from this group , despite being aware of the violation has ever attempted to contact me and apologize, or offer information or offer to recover my painting. If the paintings had been left on the wall they would not be missing or damaged.

To go to an exhibit and remove and replace artwork without permission is simply unacceptable and unprofessional. From top to bottom this situation reeks.

It was a self centered pompus tactic.

If you know of a group called Moe's Bohemian Art Show, or Mo begg'n, or Mobegg'n, or Mo Beggeing please let me know. Apparently they felt it was okay to mingle their show and works in with mine. I would like to know their names so that I can notify the police department. They had a fundraiser last night in this space and now I have a missing painting. The House is made of stone. It and some stalls still stand. It's hey days were in the 30's and 40's of the previous century, for many years the hey barn was home for many bats. The Southern Pacific Railroad Tracks, The Franklin Canal the Texas Company are The only things older in that area. Iglesia de San Juan Bautista was built around 1919. To the south was a valley bottom land of farms. I am certain that the army from Fort Bliss used to have military exercises in this are and they had a route through here to cross the Rio Grande during the Mexican Revolution of Pancho Villa. This neighborhood in El Paso was an probably still is one of the poorest communities that has ever existed in Texas. I would not be surprised if General Black Jack Pershing and Francisco"Pancho" Villa each rode a horse though there on more than one occasion.
I know that for a short while Angeles a general for Villa kept a house on Collingsworth Street not far from here.

A working man's black lunchbox with a a round top where the thermos fit. Written on the outside in white script, Joe. On the inside the box was white, room for a couple of wax paper wrapped bologna sandwiches, maybe an orange and some Fritos. My old man would slurp from the brim topped cup, his first sip of coffee with milk and sugar. I've been drinking coffee ever since then. Bluegreen was my favorite crayon. Forty-seven years later the box sits in a garage filled with an assortment of dust coated screws, nuts and washers. That is a lot of years, that is a lot of coffee, that is a lot of dust.

A man once came to me with a panic, and a worn torn vintage wallet photo of his long gone mother. The photo was torn across the top below this lady's hairline. It was the last and only picture he had of his mother. Probably the photo was taken in the late fifties early sixties.
